Hello,

My name is Paige. I moved to Colorado in summer 2015 from Arizona. I have a Bachelors in education from Arizona State University (2012). I am working toward my certification as an elementary teacher at the University of Phoenix online. In addition, I have an approved background check done already by the state in which I did when I moved. I have several years of experience as well as the background in education and working with students.

When in AZ, I worked at a tutoring company during my time at ASU for 2 1/2 years. After graduating from ASU, I worked at Frank Borman Elementary as a Sped Paraprofessional K-8 and worked as an after-school teacher at a Phoenix Montessori. Currently, I work for Hope Online Learning Academy, which is a hybrid type charter school. I am a literacy paraprofessional working with students in K to 6th in small groups at the center, World Impact Academy.

I am very good at coming up with fun and engaging learning activities. I work very hard to help students succeed and do better in the needed area.

I am willing to meet at a local library such as Anythink or Front Range Community College if needed.

Also, if you would like to know anything else or have any questions please do not hestitate to ask.

Public Speaking

I took a public speaking class my sophomore year of college. In the class we were to present multiple speeches followed by a final speech at the end of the semester. The multiple speeches were speaking in different situations such as a toast. Each student would present a toast. We also turned in outlines, speech notes, and PowerPoint presentations. Each time I present, I improve on eye contact, moving around the room, speaking clearly and explaining my material. Since I have been in college I have presented multiple presentations (PowerPoints) in groups and by myself.

General Computer

Being a college student, I need to keep my self organized on the computer such as creating folders for my classes or organizing pictures when going to the zoo. I am always typing an essay on Microsoft Word or using the internet. I make sure to email classmates or teachers about certain things. I use my email as a back up to send my work and print along with just having it in my email. I have knowledge of using a USB. I also have a Facebook that I use to talk to friends and family.

I am pursuing my career in Elementary Education and I am learning a great deal of things in classes. During my time in college, I was to intern in classrooms. In fall 2010, I was in a Science classroom of 7th and 8th graders at a school in Buckeye. I designed fun activities with the class and I helped students with their assignments in the class. I was like an assistant to the teacher. I was also in a 3rd grade classroom, Spring 2011 at Alfred F Garcia. I also designed fun and engaging activities for students. I assisted students with vocabulary, sounding out words, asking/answering questions, etc.

Study Skills

During my time as a college student, I have learned to better my study skills. I am able to organize my time to each subject area. I write down in my spiral notebook and planner the needed tasks that are needed to be done by the appropriate due date. I write notes including definitions, key phrases, and highlight key points in the books when I am reading. When preparing for a test, I create flash cards to help me review information. If a study guide is provided by the teacher, I make sure to type/write those key points and reread the book for extra help if needed. Also, when helping me study I sometimes draw pictures if needed. When I do not understand something or need to know a definition of a word I look it up online/dictionary to help me with clarification and understanding.
