I am enjoying my current full time teaching job, but am looking to add a few students to tutor in the evenings and on the weekends. During the day, I break complex algebra concepts down into manageable steps for my students. I am enjoying my current full time teaching job, but am looking to add a few students to tutor in the evenings and on the weekends. During the day, I break complex algebra concepts down into manageable steps for my students. Over the last six and a half years, I have spent time mentoring students, observing & coaching teachers, and practicing mathematics 40+ hours a week. I have taught remedial freshman classes as well as some upper level courses. In teacher evaluations, students have described me as patient, caring, energetic, and fun.

I became a teacher because I wanted to be involved in the lives of teenagers. When I was a teenager, there were a handful of adults who helped me survive adolescence, and I love paying it forward! Although I focused on both language arts and mathematics in college, I enjoy teaching math because I understand when students struggle. Math did not come naturally to me right away in high school, but I persevered and now I'm a high school math teacher! This enables me to support students in overcoming their own hurdles with the subject of math.

I love students, and I love explaining math processes. This is why I am passionate about teaching. I am currently working towards starting a master's degree in mathematics so I can continue to pursue a subject I enjoy.

I support students at my school with Algebra 1 and Algebra 2, the courses that I teach. Sometimes students I taught in previous years will even come back for support in Trigonometry, Statistics, and Geometry homework because they like the way I explain things so much. I am a certified high school math teacher in the state of Colorado and I previously held both Math and English teaching certifications in the state of Georgia.

I am available for both occasional math needs or ongoing consistent support. I look forward to hearing from you and supporting you in being a total success in math!
