Finding ways to help children learn and develop a love for writing is a special interest. My 3 children were introduced to journals as soon as they could hold a crayon, and we continue to communicate through writing. I have a passion for words and enjoy blogging.

I look forward to helping your child develop a love for written expression. Being able to effectively communicate through written and spoken language is essential to our personal, emotional, and social successes. I have been a volunteer teacher for elementary and middle school programs and worked as a Program Director for a large Child Development Center for Army Child Development Services. Additionally, I taught Child Development 101 for Big Bend Community College in Mannheim, Germany.

I was fortunate to have a strong foundation for grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and writing. I went to an elementary school that focused on writing and fostered a love for this type of communication. What I was unable to express out loud thrived when I put pen to paper. That foundation set the tone for my education. I truly appreciated that start when I taught a college level course and realized that not everyone had the same opportunities. It became necessary to incorporate basic grammar and writing skills into the course. I want all students to have confidence in their expressive and receptive language skills before they are launched into the adult world of college courses and employment.

Customized sessions can be created to help your child develop expressive writing skills, become a confident creative writer, and organize materials for written projects. I look forward to working with you and invite you to check my writer's site.
