About Trystan

Hi guys, my name is Trystan. :) I have recently just completed my freshman year at the University of Northern Colorado, studying Journalism with an emphasis in Telecommunications. I unfortunately had to withdraw due to some medical issues, so I will not be returning in the fall. I am a native of Colorado Springs, and am glad to be back home. I have been privileged to have some awesome experiences in life, with my favorite being my 4 years as a cadet in the Air Force JROTC program at Harrison High School.

I have always high on the reading section of CSAP tests, scoring in the area of "highly proficient" from 3rd-10th grade. Also, in my junior year of high school, my ACT composite score was 23, and thus I was deemed college ready, with a sub score of 28 in reading.

From "Colorado Springs History" in 3rd grade to "Economics and Government" in 12th grade, I have always earned high marks in history classes. I have 1 year experience in local history, 1 year in state history, 3 years of American history, 2 1/2 years of world history, 1 year of geography, and 1 year of general political science. I also have experience with history as it relates to aerospace science. I am an avid reader of biographies and autobiographies, so I like to evaluate the people behind the history as well. Particular areas of interest for me are world history up to 1500, pre-colonial to Vietnam War era American history, modern suffrage/civil rights movements American presidents, and world geography. Another thing is that in 2014 I was selected to serve as a delegate to American Legion Colorado Boys State, which is a highly prestigious all expenses paid camp to learn the ways of local, county, and state government, and by the end of the week, we created a fully functioning mock state government. I am approaching my 3rd year of involvement with this camp, having served as a counselor the previous 2 years. Having this experience also enabled me to have a cross cultural exchange trip between 20 students from my high school, and 20 high school students from Beijing, China. It also enabled me to secure a internship with a regional office of a United States senator.

I have 4 1/2 years of school band experience as a percussionist. I also have 6 years of experience in choral music at the middle school and high school level. I have experience as a tenor and baritone in a middle school mixed choir setting, along with bass within a high school level men's choir. Some highlights include winning 1st place in all categories at the CHSAA (Colorado High School Activities Association) choir competition, along with winning best in our division at the Winter Park Ski Music Festival, beating 15 similar choirs from Texas, California, and Kansas.

I would love to be of assistance to you in any and all academic endeavors you may have. Please contact me if you think that we would be a good match :)

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
