University of Colorado Colorado Springs (Biomedical Sciences)
Hello! I'm a 4.00 GPA Biomedical Sciences student at the University of Colorado, and learning and teaching others are some of my greatest passions! The sciences can be challenging, but with hard work and determination, succeeding in and understanding these classes is certainly achievable. I love the sciences (especially medicine, biology, and chemistry) and plan to attend medical school after graduating. I am confident that with my love for learning, patience, and enthusiasm for science, I can help you accomplish your academic goals.
It is my goal to make concepts that previously seemed overwhelming as simple as possible. One of my goals for you, the student, is not simply to help you pass an upcoming exam or a class, but to actually grasp and remember these ideas at the fundamental level. I am very patient and am here for the you, and my desire for you is to feel successful after each session. Our tutoring sessions will be tailored to your pace and desires, whether that includes being challenged or just understanding concepts.
Although I only recently joined WyzAnt, I have about 1.5 years of tutoring experience in many areas and several current students outside of WyzAnt. I tutor high and middle school chemistry, biology, English, math, and physical science, along with college-level General Biology I and II, General Chemistry I and II, and Organic Chemistry I and II. I'm additionally a USTA certified Coach Youth Tennis instructor, and I have been coaching private lessons for adults, juniors, and young children for 2 years. I have experience coaching group lessons for children ages 5-17.
I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve your academic goals! Hello! Danielle helped me to get a B in my chem 2 class, which is my worst subject in the whole world. She really helped me to understand the reasoning behind why we use certain equations or why things work a certain way. It really helped me to understand the content of the class rather than just memorizing it without understanding it. Furthermore, Danielle is not intimidating at all and is very easy to talk and ask questions to. She never makes you feel silly for not knowing something that may be simple. I have tried a few other chem tutors from this site and Danielle is definitely the best! Thanks Danielle!
As a parent of a struggling freshman, Danielle eased both my worries and my daughter's anxiety about Biology. She was very knowledgeable about the subject matter and was a great encourager to a very reluctant learner. It was such a relief to see my daughter regain her confidence in a subject she struggled with for so long. Danielle is a very patient and motivating tutor and we'd highly recommend her.
Danielle has an excellent knowledge of chemistry, I can bring any topic that I am learning and she knows exactly how to help me understand. Honestly, I am only progressing through this course with her help!
Danielle taught me Stoichiometry and the steps it took to get the right answer. Overall Danielle was very good at helping and teaching me how to do Stoichiometry.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I currently hold a 4.0 undergraduate GPA, and passed General Biology I and II last year with high A's in both the lab and lecture portions of the class. I absolutely love biology; it is my favorite subject to study and to tutor!
I currently hold a 4.0 undergraduate GPA and and have completed 18 hours of college-level chemistry classes, passing them with high A's. I received high A's in General Chemistry I and II, in both the lecture and lab portions of the class. Chemistry is one of my favorite subjects to study and teach!
I have tutored several students in elementary and middle school math and have helped them improve grades, grasp concepts, and get ahead in classes. I love giving kids analogies and easy-to-imagine concepts that make math easier and more enjoyable. My method is to move at the student's pace and make sure he or she truly understands the material before moving forward. I bring a patient, encouraging, individualistic approach and believe that with hard work and determination, all students are capable of reaching their full potential.
I completed and passed BIOL 3830: Genetics at the University of Colorado with a high A. This class focused on DNA replication, transcription, and translation, along with inheritance, DNA technology, cellular and molecular genetics, epigenetics, and other topics. True understanding of genetics is based on a thorough foundation of general biology, and I passed General Biology I and II (both lab and lecture portions) with high A's. My teaching approach will be to ensure the student has a solid foundation in biology upon which to build the principles of genetics. Rather than strict memorization, I will give students an understanding at the conceptual level, which is especially important in a challenging subject such as genetics.
I have taken 10 hours of Organic Chemistry I and II, passing both the lab and lecture portions of the class with high A's. I love organic chemistry, as it builds on the foundation laid in General Chemistry and focuses on primarily one topic with set patterns. I approached Organic Chemistry with the goal of understanding rather than memorizing, and that is how I tutor this subject as well. My goal for you is to assist you in recognizing general patterns, so you don't have to memorize reactions and reagents.
In high school, I completed a rigorous English and literature program with high A's and have taken and passed lower and upper division university-level English classes including English: Rhetoric and Writing I and Business and Professional Communication. These classes have focused on repetition and intensive writing and speaking requirements. My goal when proofreading is to bring out the writer's true personality and message without changing their content or meaning.
