I am a current certified high school math teacher with 17 years of teaching experience. I am also an adjunct professor at a local community college. I have a BS in Mathematics with a Secondary Education Emphasis from the University of Northern Colorado and an MS in Statistics from Texas A&M. My subjects with a lot of experience are Statistics/Probability, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-calculus, and Trigonometry. With my experiences as a teacher, I can tailor my lessons to meet my student's needs. I also am able to simplify complex math jargon that is often encountered in college level courses.
I have always loved teaching and tutoring. All my professional life, I've worked with students, from tutoring while in high school and college to teaching in the classroom. I love looking for that "light bulb" moment when a student finally gets a concept and I believe that it is my duty to make as many of those moments happen.
Please contact me to schedule lessons. I am willing to work in individual appointments for single concepts or with regularly scheduled tutoring sessions, either in person or online. I look forward to working with you.
Notice to Statistics Students: I have some limited experience with the statistical programs SAS and R. However, I do not have any experience with the programs SPSS or STATA. I apologize, but I will be unable to help you with those programs.
John has provided examples of their subject expertise by answering 212 questions submitted by students on Wyzant’s Ask an Expert.
Managerial Statistics- MBA Probabilities to regression (linear and multi) quadratic model and estimation of the mean. Gives examples that are easy to remember as well as helps identify certain words in problems that clue you in on what type of equation you would need to use to solve the problem. Example the use of the z critical value vs. T critical value; right tail, left tail or two tail. Definitely recommend!Patricia, 2 lessons with John

We went over probability problems. I especially enjoyed his patience and the way he broke the problem down into language that was easier for me to understand. In fact, I've already booked another session with him.Edmond, 3 lessons with John
Knowledgeable and great tutor
John did an amazing job at breaking down formulas and equations and ensured that I was more comfortable with actually understanding the concepts to make it easier to apply in homework and exams. He was also extremely patient and helpful when I asked questions as well. Definitely will be coming back to him for statistics tutoring in the future.Sabrina, 2 lessons with John
John always does a great job. He makes sure that the concepts build upon one another in a logical way. One thing I particularly enjoy is that he gives background on the theory behind the concepts which paints a complete picture of the topics covered. Thank you again John for a great lesson!Nicole, 3 lessons with John
