The reason I love working as a tutor is because I have had phenomenal experiences with my tutors in the past. I know the feeling of having a topic be crystal clear after working with a challenging, motivational tutor. I have been a full-time science and math tutor for seven years, and have experience with students ranging from ages 14-45. Topics such as biology, anatomy, or genetics can be very dense at first, and I understand the value of being able to explain concepts in multiple ways from different angles. I make every lesson personalized, and I always look for feedback on how my teaching can be improved, but also what I am doing well and should continue.

Science is fun! Almost like an onion, different science topics can always be unwrapped in more and more detail. Over my five years of tutoring experience, I have developed a sense of how deep to dive on a particular topic in order to help a student best understand the concepts. Sometimes delving more deeply into a topic is just what a student needs to understand and succeed.

I love to teach, and I am motivated by the successes and improvements of my students. I am willing to meet in any convenient location, and would love to help you succeed!

I hold my bachelors degree in Genetics, Cell Biology, and Development, and have been working with high school, college, and graduate students in biology for over eight years. Science

ACT Science,

ACT Science

The ACT science portion is often times the most difficult for students. The section is very fast (40 questions, 35 minutes) and is divided into three sections: data representation, research summaries, and conflicting viewpoints. Often times previous science knowledge is not an indicator of ACT science success, because the portion is about scientific reading and reasoning, not base scientific knowledge. I specialize in communicating science research and writing to the public, and I understand how difficult reading studies and interpreting figures can be. I teach students how to quickly and efficiently interpret data, and how to understand which portions of a passage are useful.

Amazing MCAT Tutor!

Patrick is the best MCAT tutor that my son has tried. He is very caring, supportive and will be there for you all the way to test day! He really knows the sciences and how to create a schedule that will help you reach your goal. He not only creates a plan of study, but he will question you to make sure you have a right and complete understanding of the material. If you're looking for a tutor that will help you increase your score, tried Patrick. He is a fantastic tutor! Angela

Very knowledgeable and patient.

He took what my confusing assignment instructions were to being super clear! He drilled into my head how to take instructions for a writing assignment and list it out as tasks so I know exactly what I need to include in my paper. He also showed me how to start with outlining again, which does help when you're unsure what you'll be writing about. He gave me great feedback as to what I did wrong in my paper and explained about why I got the grade I received from school. Got to say, as this is my first tutor ever, he did an excellent job. Nice, patient and very responsive!

Great!

Very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed working with him and would recommend a friend to do the same if for some reason the friend had to take chemistry. Seems like he really understands the material.

Fantastic AP Chem Tutor!

Patrick started tutoring my daughter in AP Chemistry last fall and continued on until she took her AP test. We were unsure about doing online tutoring but he made it very simple. Lindsey was comfortable with the format and his style of teaching. He did his best to accommodate her schedule and to be available when she needed help. He helped her go more in depth in the topics which made it easier to understand the material overall. Lindsey used to get very stressed out before a test but Patrick's tutoring helped her feel much more confident. She met with other tutors before Patrick who made her feel "stupid" for not knowing how to do things. She thought Patrick was really cool and she felt comfortable and not judged. (which is big for a teenager!) Thanks so much for all your help Patrick!

Engaging and Knowledgeable!

We found Patrick on short notice to help our High School Senior daughter prepare for an upcoming AP Chemistry test, and we are so glad we did. In our daughter’s words “he is engaging and knowledgeable”. We will be leveraging Patrick from hereon for all our daughter’s future Chemistry tutoring needs. Thanks Patrick!!

Knowledgeble and Insightful

Patrick worked with my 13 year old student on topics ranging from organic chemistry to physics to biology. He was able to use his knowledge to add depth to the material that my son was covering during the week and help him retain what he was learning. We enjoyed working with Patrick very much.
