The beginning of my career was spent in the university setting as a teaching fellow and completing my own advanced writing project, my dissertation. I earned my Ph.D. from the University of Denver and taught at DU, UCCS and PPCC. I earned excellent teaching evaluations, and would love to bring that same effective positivism to your student needing additional help with writing, English, grammar, literature, public speaking, etc.
Throughout my life and career, I have privately tutored many students at the elementary and middle school, high school, college, and master's levels on everything from short writing assignments, to research papers, to theses. I am passionate about helping students find their unique voice and experience the pleasure and satisfaction that comes from effectively expressing that voice, through the power of the written and spoken word. I would love to help you get the results you want!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I feel I am qualified to tutor in the Common Core because of my experience. I taught at the University level for 10 years. I was a substitute teacher in D20 for two years. I have also privately tutored a variety of students, from elementary school through Master's level programs, on a variety of topics. I would be most comfortable tutoring Common Core subjects to elementary level students.
I was the Marketing Director for a senior living company for two years before being promoted. During that time I outperformed 15 other Marketing Directors and was chosen as the Marketing Mentor for the company. I also owned my own business and through skillful marketing grew that business into the Teller County Business of the Year for 2005.
While working on my Ph.D. at the University of Denver I was a teaching fellow. I taught many quarters of a core course called "Speech and Thought" which was essentially a Public Speaking course. I also taught at the university level and received excellent teaching evaluations. Teaching is certainly an example of public speaking.
