CSU-Pueblo (Socia Sciences)
I was licensed in the State of Colorado as a Professional Teacher endorsed in Elementary Education from April 16, 2002 to April 16, 2007. Unfortunately I let it expire before I completed 6 credit hours of College or In-Service Training. I really miss teaching therefore I have applied for a 5 year Substitute Teacher’s License and have received it in July 2012. I applied at that time, however all the positions had been filled. I have enjoyed meeting the challenges of a Substitute Teacher but now, I want to complete my education requirements to obtain my Professional Teacher’s License once again.
I have experience in Elementary, Middle, and High School however my favorite is the Elementary Grades, especially third grade, because of my Student Teaching Experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and from the letters I received from the students when my time with them was over, I know they did too. I was also the Reading Teacher for 2nd and 3rd grades at Edison Charter School while also being the Media Assistant/Librarian. This was my Mentorship Program in order to receive my Professional License.
I completed my Student Teaching at Martinez Elementary School in District 11. Ronda Shimpf was my cooperating teacher along with the other teachers in the 3rd and 4th grade team. We all brainstormed together and I did implement many of the skills that I learned from them. I also used my vast and varied life skills to make the classroom more unforgettable. I appreciate new ideas, methods, suggestions, as well as constructive criticism. I want to be able to offer the best teaching methods as well as fun learning experiences to my students.
I am a dependable employee who will exceed any expectations you have. I will devote myself to the students, the parents as well as to my peers in any way that I may be of service to them. I am an enthusiastic and imaginative person who knows that I can instill the desire to learn in my students with fairness, respect, versatility, flexibility, consistency, and reliability. My students will know what is expected of them both academically and behaviorally. I welcome the chance to prove myself to you as a great Teacher!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am qualified as a tutor in the reading subject area because I have had a teaching certification in Elementary Education.
I have also taken the PLACE exam and passed the reading portion on that test.
I had straight A's in all reading programs in college and graduated with a 3.67 GPA.
I was also the reading teacher for 2nd and 3rd graders at Roosevelt Edison Charter School. The program was called "Success for all Reading".
I was taught by Catholic nuns who were very adamant about using the Palmer Method for handwriting instruction. I learned very quickly and have been complimented on my handwriting several times! I was licensed in the State of Colorado as a Professional Teacher endorsed in Elementary Education.
