As a special education generalist, I have taught in both public and charter schools. My passion is teaching reading and comprehension at the early learning stages, and developing writing skills at the middle and secondary levels to those who are interested in continuing to post-secondary education. Instruction is designed to meet that of the individual learning styles and skill level. My creative lesson planning is intended to motivate the learner by achieving short term goals that lead to successful experiences in learning. This, in turn, builds self esteem and a sense personal pride of achievement.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a M.Ed. Special Education, Generalist with specific training in Algebraic Thinking as a curriculum to teach middle school math. It is a scaffolding multisensory approach to teaching and used in both the general and special ed settings.
I am also highly qualified by 24+ hours of college credits to teach secondary math. I prefer not to teach above Algebra II, which fall into the middle school area.
English is a challenging language because it is comprised of so many other languages, i.e, old English, French, Spanish, with Germanic and Latin influences. The challenge makes it exciting to teach.
I have training and experience teaching the LANGUAGE! (Greene) curriculum to middle school ESL students. It is a multisensory language learning program that is used for ESL and as an intervention to English speaking students who are have weak Reading skills.
Grammar can be subjective to the locale and cultural influences of a group. Scholars should understand the differences in structure and tones, and learn to write for academic papers as well as informal personal notes or journaling notes to.
