I have been teaching French since 2000 in Virginia and Colorado. During that time I have taught high school, middle school, and elementary school French. I have also coached adults and high school students independently and teach French with an online company. I am certified to teach French and Spanish K-12 in Colorado and Virginia.
I am bilingual, born in France and raised in France and the United States (I have dual citizenship). I travel annually to France to visit my parents, other relatives and friends, and to see things I have not yet seen.
I have used a variety of methods, though I like to use a very natural and practical approach, teaching students to communicate quickly on a variety of practical, everyday subjects. However, the way I approach lessons is very dependent on the student's desires, objectives, and needs.
Although my B.A. was in Business Administration, my master's degree is in French from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia (Foreign Language with a French concentration).
My teaching program can be designed specifically for the needs of the customer - work on trouble spots for students; practice with conversational French for any level; enrichment topics, etc. I also like to steer students to websites and other resources whereby they can further enrich their study and practice, beyond my work with them.
I love French and all things French or based in French culture, and it is my great joy to share this love and knowledge with my current students and with others I meet. Christine is able to help my daughter with understanding French in a kind and encouraging environment. She has boosted my daughter's confidence as well as understanding of the language, and has shown my daughter she really cares.
Christine has a knack for anticipating my indecision when answering questions and provides helpful hints to arrive at the correct answer.
Christine is a very knowledgeable french tutor who instantly connected with my daughter. She held our daughters attention for the entire hour and often heard laughter from the dining room where they worked. She went above and beyond by showing additional resources and boosting our daughters confidence in her ability to understand the language.
We got to know each other in a little to see where I am currently and where we want to go from here. I already feel more confident with myself and look forward to learning and growing with Christine.
Christine has been very friendly, patient, and accommodating. I've wanted to learn French for a long time, and with Christine as my tutor, I feel like I will finally be able to fulfill that dream. I look forward to continuing my studies with her, and I would recommend her to anyone who wants to learn French.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
