About Sandy

I love teaching math to elementary, middle, and high school students! I have been a middle school math teacher for 20 years, and a high school math teacher for 11 years. I have also been differentiating education in my classroom for 31 years to help meet the needs of all my students. Tutoring students in math is a hobby of mine that I thoroughly enjoy!

My Bachelors degree is in Special Education (K-12). I hold a Masters degree in Diverse Learners, and am considered Highly Qualified in math. For the last 31 years I have taught elementary, middle, and high school math to IB students, honors, double advanced, traditional, ELL, SPED, and 504 students. I love sharing in my students educational success, and achieving their personal academic goals!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ADD/ADHD

My bachelors degree is in Special Education for K-12. I have a masters degree that is in Diverse Learners. For the last 27 years I have taught students with mild to severe needs to include student diagnosed with ADD/ADHD.

Elementary (K-6th)

My bachelors degree qualifies me to teach K-12 students. I have taught for 27 years and have taught students of all ages & grades. Math is a strength and am currently teaching middle school math.

Special Needs

My bachelors degree is in Special Education K-12. I have taught middle, and high school students with mild to severe special needs. I have taught for 27 years, and have worked with special needs students every year. My masters degree is in Diverse Learners which taught us a variety of strategies to work with all students. This included ELL, SPED, At-risk, and student with demographic and economic challenges. I have taught math at every level using my K-12 endorsement. I am also considered highly qualified in math. I have also taught reading, English, social studies, science at the high school level.
