Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Bible Studies

I have been been familiar since biblical studies since the age of 5 as I attended Catholic and parochial school until the age of 14. I have also been regularly involved in church, off and on, since the age of 5 and have taught children and women's Bible study classes and have been actively involved with other church-related activities including vacation Bible school, regular Bible study, workshops/conventions, small home group studies, etc. I am very familiar with various biblical versions (i.e., NKJ, Ampliflied, English Standard Version, Good News, NIV, the Message Bible, etc.) and avidly read and listen to biblically-based books and teachings.

Business

I have B.A. and M.S. degrees in Public Relations and Marketing Communications, respectively and graduated with honors. I have a strong professional background in general business administration, communications, marketing, sales with emphasis in health care, insurance, education, legal, construction, banking, etc. My total experience in these areas spans over 20-plus years.

Career Development

My current position is a Career Development and External Partnership Coordinator with an alternative, charter high school. For over four years I have overseen the Career Development and college planning program of the school as well as served as an vocational teacher, academic advisor and community outreach liaison. Likewise I have been a member of the National Career Development Association for the past four years; I also currently serve on the advisory board of a local workforce center youth council.
