Elementary Math,

Elementary Math

As a CO licensed teacher with several years of experience tutoring students in Elementary Math, I have successfully helped many students to understand concepts, master skills, and overcome a fear of math. I regularly work with first through sixth grade students on number sense, math facts, addition, subtraction with borrowing, fractions, story problems, multiplication, long division, and prealgebra. Using a variety of methods suited to the student, it remains a thrill to see students comprehend and master their needed skills.
Homeschool,

Homeschool

As a CO certified teacher and a long-time tutor, I have successfully educated three students in a homeschool setting. I provided instruction with each of these learners in subjects that parents did not feel confident to teach. These subjects included elementary and middle school math, reading, writing, dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, and various learning issues.

As a long-term teacher and tutor, I have enabled many students, with a variety of learning issues, to learn to read. Special Needs

As a CO licensed teacher, I have successfully tutored several students with special needs: Dyslexia, Aspergers, ADHD, FASD, bipolar, and Down's Syndrome. My teaching practice has been greatly influenced by the writings of Dr. Mel Levine, about the neurodevelopmental aspects of learning. At this time, four of my long-time students are special needs students. I especially love helping these students, to assess and strengthen their specific areas of weakness, as well as building lifelong strategies into these learners.
