I have a very long teaching career and have tutored many, many children (from grade 1 to high school). Math remediation is my specialty. I like to incorporate as many visual aids and manipulatives into my lessons as possible. I am a very patient and caring teacher, who has the ability to diagnosis where in the process or skill the student is breaking down. Both student and parent are happy with their math performance and the tutoring services I provide.

We are very pleased with Mary's tutoring of our granddaughter in math. Our granddaughter took to her right away and actually looks forward to her tutoring sessions! We can tell Mary is sincerely interested in helping her achieve proficiency in math and always makes sure she covers any new areas of the subject that have been introduced in her school class.
We are thrilled to see marked improvement in our granddaughter's understanding of math procedures!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have had success in getting students to pass their algebra coursework. I specialize in teaching pre-skills needed to be successful on their tests and quizzes. A master's degree is one of my accomplishments.
