Hello and welcome to my page! If you're hoping for a tutor who's bland and boring, you've come to the wrong place! I am from NY and am starting my life now HERE in CO! I recently graduated Stony Brook University where I have received my Masters Degree in Math Education! Prior to Stony Brook I graduated from Marist college with a B.A in mathematics and pursued a degree in Math education. I've been tutoring for many years now, in both individual and group settings. My math knowledge spans from pre-algebra all the way up to Calculus!

Other areas I can be of use are the SAT and ACT math sections! Yes, even those dreaded standardized tests! Seeing as I am working towards graduate school I had to take the GRE (very recently) which is the grad school equivalent to the SATs, so I am very familiar with the format and structure of the test! I'll be able to help you logically think through the problems and reduce the time it takes to answer the questions with confidence!

Teaching has been my career of choice since childhood, and what I have learned about myself as a teacher is that I flourish when working one on one. I'm in my element and I have seen drastic improvement in my students work after one on one practice together. I hope to work with you and together we can both grow; you as a mathematician and me as a teacher!

So, you may ask "What separates you from other tutors here?" I'd have to say it's my ability to hone in on what is confusing or tripping up my student and breaking it down to the fundamental level and building it back up. I teach for comprehension, not just rote memorization. It is this belief that has founded my teaching philosophy and in turn allowed me the opportunity to help students develop a firm understanding of topics they had otherwise felt uncomfortable with. As we all know, math builds upon itself at a somewhat exponential rate, and so missing essential concepts creates gaps in understanding that need to be filled. I will do my best to fill those gaps.

I promise to make the lessons as pai

Patiently helped me understand

Brian, helped me understand my assignment and made it easy for me to understand. Repeated as needed and used pictures and relatable methods to help me reach understanding.

Enthusiastic teacher

My daughter enjoyed working with Brian and feels very prepared for her test that she had been very concerned about taking. His explanations were detailed enough to give her a deeper understanding of the problems she read having trouble with. Brian was very easy to communicate with and set up a time and place to meet.

Energetic math tutor who knows his stuff

Brian met with my 13-year-old son yesterday. My son is in advanced math and is covering new material. Brian has energy and enthusiasm for the subject and more importantly was able to connect with my son in the first 5 minutes. My son trusted that Brian knew what he was talking about and worked hard to get through some missing assignments. We will definitely request Brian again.

Knowledgeable and creative tutor

Brian has found various different ways to teach and explain complex calculus problems. He is very thorough and takes his time explaining and working through problems with my daughter. I highly recommend.
