Teaching others has always been a part of my life. I have tutored in a number of settings since I was in high school. After graduating from the Colorado School of Mines where I majored in Electrical Engineering and minored in Economics, I worked as a computer programmer for IBM for seven years. During this time, I spent weekends volunteering my time tutoring youths at my church. After starting my own business, I left IBM and began a successful property management service which I have managed since 1999. During this time I worked as a part-time substitute teacher for local school districts in Missouri and Iowa. I have continued my volunteer tutoring in Texas up to the present which I enjoy very much.
I work well with young ones and have a simple and creative teaching method which can make seemingly complicated subjects easy to understand. I am a patient tutor, yet I push my students to get to a level of proficiency that they may not have believed they could achieve.
I have a flexible schedule and will work with the student's and parent's schedules to ensure a productive fit. I am willing to adjust methods and accept parental input if a student has a specific need.
