About Tygh

I've been in the industry for almost 40 years now, the majority of it being a software developer in the CAD/CAM world. I graduated from the University of Denver in the 70s with my studies in Math/Computer scientist. I worked with an upstart in California, writing graphics drivers, operation commands and designing the database for AutoCAD. I was there when release 1.3 on floppy disks was released. My code is still in operation today in the latest AutoCAD.

My company was the first registered developer for AutoDesk and leveraged that to work primarily in the construction and mapping spaces. All the time I was the advanced classroom teacher to the clients. I've kept up with technology and am certified with ESRI (todays mapping), Autodesk Architectural Revit (construction), numerous engineering support and the most of the Mechanical design systems including, AutoDesk Inventor, Solidworks, Catia and ProEngineer.

I have always been a teacher/tutor because clients needed to understand what my fellow software engineers were trying to do to help them. I took it that extra step and customized it for them.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

AutoCAD

I graduated from the University of Denver in the 70s with my studies in Math/Computer scientist. I guess that's where I started my tutoring when I ran the help desk in the Universities main frame computer room.

I really did not know what to do with math back then but was quickly snatched up by a company called AutoTrol in Thornton, CO. After 3 years with them I opened my business, CAD Consultants, formally Porak Computing Services. AutoTrol was the midrange computer predecessor to AutoCAD. Before I knew it I was working with an upstart in California, writing graphics drivers, operation commands and designing the database for AutoCAD. I was there when release 1.3 on floppy disks was released. My code is still in operation today in the latest AutoCAD.

Computer Programming

I have been producing and publishing software products for over 40 years. I have worked for several fortune 50 companies doing vastly different software development. In every case, I've had to teach or train my users how to use, maintain and in some cases modify the programs for there use. I teach in 3 different modern operating systems and well over 20 native languages. I also teach 3rd tier software development along with the common stacks.

MATLAB

I'm not only professionally experienced in MATLAB, but have published software products that work within the API of MATLAB. My structrual engineering experience included working with professional engineers and teaching this product. I have nearly 20 years of structural engineering experience and teaching of the subject.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor — Tygh was great to work with on AutoCAD and Revit. Very knowledgeable and patient. He really understands possible the pitfalls of the programs and teaches you how to solve problems through applied system logic. Highly recommend. ...
