I am currently an 8th grade math teacher in Broomfield. My path towards becoming a teacher began in high school when I tutored younger students in math. I continued to tutor in college while I earned my B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering but it wasn't until I taught an undergraduate biology course while working on my PhD that I realized my true calling was teaching. After graduating with my PhD, I pursued an alternative teaching credential in Colorado.
I have an endorsement to teach secondary math and my credentials make me highly qualified to teach Biology/Physiology/Anatomy. My preferences for tutoring include elementary and middle school math, algebra, SAT/ACT math prep and biology.
Students learn at different speeds and in different ways - my job as a teacher and tutor is to make sure every student can access the material. My goal is to help all of my students succeed in math and science and I believe one-on-one or small group instruction is ALWAYS the best method for reaching each individual students' needs and learning styles.
It is important for both you and your child to feel I am a good fit for your family before we start lessons so please let me know if you'd like to set up a place and time to meet before setting up your first lesson! You can contact me through email, text or phone call to learn more about what I offer, set-up an in-person meeting and/or schedule tutoring lessons. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
