I have been writing, in one form or another, since I was eight. I believe fully in the power of words and persuasiveness of the right phrase. At a time when a lot of students are developing bad writing habits with online and texting lingo, I will help them become proficient at communicating ideas in a strong and constructive manner.
My past experiences with tutoring are helping teach my sister (10 years my junior) effective study habits and helping a dyslexic 7th grader catch up to her peers in reading, writing and math. At CU, I am active in leading study groups and writing workshops. I was also an editor for Cultural Currents Magazine - a campus publication.
A little about me: I am a senior at the University of Colorado studying English and Political Science. I work part time as an Emergency Medical Technician with Northglenn Ambulance. In my spare time I write fiction and sometimes manage to sell it. I also practice jiujitsu and have taught some of the children's classes at my academy. I also love camping and hiking in the Rockies (weather permitting).

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
