My name is Erica and I am originally from a very small town in Illinois. I grew up on a farm and learned the essence of hard work as a child. I excelled in school and sports growing up. I was a huge tom-boy and liked showing up the boys not only on the court but in my grades as well. I graduated from Western Illinois University in 2008 with a Bachelors degree in dietetics. I was involved in many things and averaged a 3.6 GPA. I then moved to Indianapolis, IN and completed my Accredited Dietetic Internship and 8 master credit hours in 2010. I was offered many jobs after graduating, but decided to follow my dream and move to Colorado. I packed up my little car and moved out here with knowing no one and not having a job. Pretty soon I was working as a PRN dietitian at 7 different hospitals around the Denver metro area, doing home tube feedings and working as a waitress. After doing that for 2 years, I became the bariatric dietitian at the Bariatric and Metabolic Center of Colorado. With this position I taught many nutrition classes to a wide range of individuals. Within one year in this career, I was promoted to the Bariatric Coordinator position at Parker Adventist Hospital and reside there today.
I am a Registered Dietitian that has an extensive history in Nutrition, Science, Anatomy, Math and Chemistry. To qualify as a registered dietitian you need to have a bachelor's degree in nutrition. The subject matter of this degree is revolved around science and knowing the human body. I also have completed an accredited 10 month dietetic internship working in many fields as a dietitian including but not limited to, hospital setting, clinic setting, and teaching settings. I have also completed 8 master credit hours along with this internship.
I am an excellent teacher. I played volleyball and basketball all through elementary school up through high school. I played varsity volleyball and basketball all through high school and won state in basketball in 2001.
Not only am I extremely passionate about cooking, I have taught many cooking classes to my patients. Being a registered dietitian it is second nature to be good at cooking and being able to teach it to others.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
