Hello Parents and Students
I am Lalitha R. and am an immigrant to the United States. Back home I taught English to undergraduate students and also international students. In India, English is taught as a Second Language.
I learnt the language the same way and went on to do my Masters in English Literature and graduated with distinction. I also did my pre-doctoral research on Indian writing in English.
I have almost 10 years of teaching experience and have taught students aspiring to pass competitive exams like TOEFL and IELTS. My students come from Science, Arts, Law, Commerce, Computers and Literature backgrounds. Many of them are here in the United States pursuing their careers and PhDs. EAP has always been a strength in my career graph. I am learning to teach online and have held a few sessions as a freelance tutor.
I am friendly in disposition and can adapt quickly to the student's needs. With my own kids studying in the United States and since English will still be their second language, I totally understand the need to learn and master the language.
I hope to make a difference in the lives of my students and help them achieve their goals. Hello Parents and Students

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
