UC Santa Cruz (Biochemistry)
I've recently moved to Boulder, CO so most of my experiences in tutoring/teaching have come in California. I've taken a few internships in at my local high schools were I helped Biology, Chemistry and Math classrooms. I've taught my own lessons, created exercises to foster creative thinking and presented challenging chemical, biological and mathematical concepts in an interactive, easy to understand approach.
I've taken numerous college level classes where the focus was based on how to develop young minds and foster student learning. I was taught numerous ways in how to represent the same problem in order to cater to the students individual learning style.
I love the sciences, teaching and helping to foster young minds.
I've always had a high understanding of math which has aided me in taking Calc 1, 2, 3 as well as Linear Algebra and Differential Equations. I've had experience instructing both College level math as well as Algebra 1, 2, Geometry and Math Analysis.
I graduated College with a Biochemistry Degree from UCSC and currently work as a Biochemist at a Pharmaceutical Company in Boulder.
I am eager to hear from students and their feedback. Please message me if you want to learn more about what I would offer to the table and how I would aid in your development. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
