I am currently a graduate student in Civil Engineering at the University of Boulder- Colorado. My undergraduate degree is from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Geological Engineering. I have been tutoring since high school and enjoy helping others learn. Studying engineering ensures that I have to know my math skills, so I am very comfortable with math and really enjoy it. I struggled with math in high school which makes me a good teacher because I understand where other students struggle.
I was in the National Honors Society in high school which is where I gained experience tutoring. I think the best approach to math is to break it down and figure out what is being understood and what is not. That is why tutoring is so important. Each student needs help figuring out what they know, what they don't know, and how to understand what they do not know. I struggled with math and now I love it! I know how to help people who are struggling. Whether you need a full curriculum or help with a few topics, I am happy to accept you as a student.
I want to make sure that students are comfortable working in a quiet environment; I am willing to meet up in public locations- libraries or coffee shops, or any other location that is comfortable for the student.
I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. You can text or call me in advance to cancel. Please contact me if you are looking for a tutor in math.
I hope to meet with you soon!
