In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I received my BA in Film & Video from Columbia College Chicago and my MFA in studio art (with emphasis in photography) from San Francisco Art Institute - both highly rated and regarded schools. I have been making pictures since the age of 3 and in my adult years have learned from some of the best photographers in the business, both in the fine art and commercial worlds. I have been a professional teacher for 3 years teaching workshops and academic classes at the college, high school, and elementary level. I regularly show my own work and maintain an active studio practice.
