I've had a passion for mathematics as long as I can remember. In middle school I tutored elementary students at the Family Learning Center, and again the summer after high school as a summer school tutor, and found a passion for teaching math. Junior and senior year of high school at Boulder High, I gained more experience tutoring in the free tutor program there. I've worked as a Learning Assistant at CU Boulder for both Calculus and Intro to Astronomy. I have found that most often times when a student is struggling with math, it is not that they are bad at math, but rather that they haven't developed a good relationship with it. I am here to guide students into a healthy relationship with math, and to see it in a new light so that they can not only do well in their courses, but start to enjoy them as well.
I have been tutoring students both through programs at Boulder High School and University of Colorado as well as privately for the past four years.. I received a 5 on the Calculus BC test as well as a 35 on the ACT Math so I know what you need to do in order to do well on those tests.
Feel free to email me any time and I will respond within 6-12 hours. I've had a passion for mathematics as long as I can remember. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
