University of Colorado, Boulder (Studio Arts)
Hello, my name is Christian. I have been practicing art and experimenting with different mediums throughout my life. Right now I am a junior at the University of Colorado at Boulder and my major is Studio Arts. I have been drawing for years and later started painting, photography and have some experience with sculpting. I have also recently learned to frame my own work from scratch and was invited to hang my art work in a local shop in Boulder.
I don't have much experience with tutoring, but I love to discuss art with others and explain how to use different techniques in order to get the outcome the artist is looking for. I work well with all ages and have experience with children from babysitting my brother's kids. It is important in the art world to get creative, try new things, and just to have fun. When it comes to art I feel that getting to know each person, their interests, and their creative style is necessary.
This is what I love to do and hope I can help others to learn how to express themselves in creative ways! Hello, my name is Christian. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been taking art classes throughout my life and have been drawing even before school. My major is in art and I have taken many classes specific to drawing or that required drawing. I myself am a hands on learner and I believe when it comes to art that is the best way to learn, as well as trying new things out of your comfort zone and getting opinions on your work.
Painting has been something I have learned in art classes and have done in my own time. My senior year in high school was when I worked with paint the most. I got to experiment with various kinds of paint, such as watercolor or acrylic. It takes much patience and attention to detail, but practice makes perfect!
I have always loved taking photos and thought I took some decent snapshots. Once I entered college, I started to take photography classes and now I am about to enter Photo 3. It has helped me to learn how to use a film camera and digital, while learning different techniques, the different settings on the camera, composition, and lighting.
