Among my goals in returning to graduate school to obtain specialty certification was qualifying for teaching and mentoring, as well as research and clinical practice. I have mentored university undergraduate and graduate students in Texas and Washington.
I specialize in tutoring biological sciences, human physiology and anatomy. I like to employ a practical application in each lesson to help my students visualize what they are studying. My intent is that you retain the knowledge, not simply pass an exam.
I work with younger students, as well as those of high school and college age. My tutoring is tailored to the educational level of the student. I assist students for success in school and for GED, SAT, and GRE.
Prior to beginning a tutoring series, it is often advantageous to meet with the student (and parents if appropriate) to clarify everyone's goals and responsibilities.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
