Hello, I'm also known as Jeanne, and I am a self-employed photography business manager and Bible/English teacher. I have recently acquired my Bridge-TEFL Certificate to teach English as a second language (ESL). I also have a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies. I'm currently teaching ESL and Bible Studies at my local church to a small, beginning class of Ethiopian immigrants.
I know just how difficult it is to learn a new language as an adult in foreign surroundings because I have been learning Spanish, German and a little bit of French over the years and especially while living abroad in Europe! Learning these languages helped me immensely when I was living in Germany and visiting Spain and France frequently from 2006 to 20011.
Back home now, in Aurora, Colorado, teaching the Bible and ESL are so rewarding to me because, not only can I help foreign people to be able to function in their new American environments, but I can also help them excel in their own personal lives by gaining the knowledge they need in English that will help them to get more and more information they need for continued growth in the future.
My teaching is very effective for several reasons. First, I am middle-aged, have a lot of experience and can empathize with what learners really need because 'I've been there!' Second, I've also been continuing my studies for several years, so I am familiar with many techniques and studies of the Bible as well as English. Thirdly, I have many lesson plans ready to use and, last but not least, I am a genuinely caring person, committed to helping others reach their educational goals in life!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
