I am an artist/art educator who loves to see my students achieve their creative potential. With 20 years experience teaching a variety of ages: pre-K through college, children and adult workshops, plus private lessons, the most satisfying experience is the smile of achievement on my students' faces. I was given the Faculty of the Year Award at the Community College of Aurora for my teaching and have taught hundreds of students over the years with much success.
My specialty is drawing, painting, and color theory, with an incorporation of art historical knowledge and concepts. Using a variety of media, I am able to adapt this knowledge to the various age groups focusing on the student's goals and objectives. My personal goal with the student is to help them attain their aesthetic abilities to the highest level they can achieve with their own unique creativity. I hold myself to a high standard and welcome feedback from the student and their family.
I love seeing the "Ah-Ha" moment with my students which allows them to create their own unique works of art. I have taught Drawing, Painting, Design, Printmaking, some Ceramics, Color Theory, and Mixed Media to students ranging from 5 to adult. I hold a MFA, BFA, and AA all in art and exhibit my work in Denver and Colorado.
With a 5 hour cancellation policy, this allows for last minute issues that may arise with the student; life happens! I will try to make up the lesson at another time convenient for all of us.
I am willing to travel to the student's home for ease and familiarity with their surroundings.
I look forward to hearing from you and hope to help you create your own masterpieces! I am an artist/art educator who loves to see my students achieve their creative potential. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught drawing since 1993 to students ranging from kindergarten to college levels. I hold three degrees in fine art: AA, BFA, and an MFA. I teach from the standpoint that everyone can create; it is just a matter of learning the techniques. I not just teach method, but material knowledge as well.
I have extensive knowledge and experience in teaching painting: acrylic, oil, watercolor, and gouache. I have taught students from the ages of kindergarten to college levels. My methods range from working from life to using photographs. I hold three degrees in fine art: AA, BFA, and MFA.
