Hello! I'm Dillon W. and I graduated with a B.S. in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines. I have been tutoring for the past 3 years through Wyzant. For as long as I can remember, I have been helping the people around me succeed in their school, whether it's friends, siblings, or any random person who approaches me asking for help in their studies. I always seek out new ways to explain topics and approach problems to ensure that I can always find something that works for a student. I am passionate about Math and Science and I am eager to share them with others so they can appreciate their applications and occurrences in the world.

One of the most frequent issues I see with students is a lack of consistency in their knowledge. This can be due to countless factors, such as having different teachers over the years, lack of practice working with topics, or ineffective instructions. I seek to build a strong foundation of knowledge for each student I work with. This foundation serves students by improving their confidence and accuracy in solving problems. It also allows them to learn new topics seamlessly as those topics will fit with their foundation.

I have experience tutoring in nearly every level of math and science, from elementary school all way to College level Calculus and Differential Equations. I genuinely want for every one of my students to succeed and begin to love for math and science. If you want to begin loving math and science, please send me a message so we can begin learning together!

Really good

My son says Dillon was really good, really helpful and enthusiastic. He helped him do well on the regents physics test in NY. After a difficult year, Dillon helped my son catch up and excel on his final. I highly recommend him.

A godsend

Dillon has so far been a good tutor for Faraan. He came when we most needed him. It's only the second lesson so let's hope this continues. Faraan says he's well educated. Thank you, Dillon.

college chemistry

Dillon was very helpful in suggesting ways to better organize my chemistry lab report. He is likable and figures out simple ways to explain difficult concepts.

Very patient, knows statistics and how to explain concepts.

Dillon is great at teaching statistical concepts and how formulas are used. I wish I would have known about him at the start of my class. He's better at teaching stats than my college professor. I would highly recommend him!

Haven’t had a math course in a while? Use Dillon!

I was an adult student taking an accelerated (8 week) Calculus II course and having a lot of difficulty. My first quiz got just 12% out of 100%. I had not taken a math course in over 10 years. I decided I needed a tutor and found Dillon on Wyzant. He is a professional and friendly young man. He absolutely loves math/science and that enthusiasm comes through in his tutoring sessions. He is very relatable and once he understands how you view a problem, he will tailor his tutoring to terms you’ll understand. I did not feel embarrassed asking basic algebra or geometry questions. I didn’t just memorize formulas, Dillon helped me to understand the reasoning behind them. He was available at very short notice. For example, I would message him the night before a quiz and he’d arrange to meet me the next morning before the quiz. I recommend him highly to all adults returning to school. He sincerely wants you to succeed and will work with you to figure out how best to get this accomplished. The confidence he instills in you is priceless. I completed Calculus II with a B+ thanks to Dillon.

Excellent tutor

We tried numerous tutors to help with AP Calculus B/C and none came close to Dillon. He knows the material well and has the ability to get the information across to his students. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM. We plan to use him again.

Knowledgeable and Quick response

I enjoyed working with Dillon. He was able to help me with my assignment and went over each topic related to Excel Microsoft. He was very helpful, I definitely plan to use his service in the future and I highly recommend him. He was very attentive, patient and responsive. Great working with you Dillon!

The secret is out. Dillon is a great tutor.

Tutored our son who is heading to a top university and now is tutoring our daughter. Dillon makes our kids confident in math, something I could never do as a parent.
