My daughter was having some trouble with her Calculus 3 class and Ryan was very patient with her. She learned not only how to do the problems but the concepts behind them, and she enjoyed it very much! Ryan is a great tutor and after only one session she said she felt more confident and understood more. We look forward to working more with him!

He really knows his stuff! The tutoring sessions have been great support. He is able to explain the work in an easy to understand way which is extremely helpful when taking an on-line course.

Got right in to helping my son with some of the basic techniques and skills he had questions on. He was able to help him look at his AP Calculus in a different way which was very helpful.

Really patient with going back to the basic since it has been so long since I have had to use that information.

Ryan worked with my son on graphing equations and basic trig. He came across as very knowledgeable and easy to follow.

Ryan helped me with some of the more difficult concepts in Calculus 2. Before each session, I let him know what I needed help with and every time he came very well prepared to teach me the topic. He's also very patient and makes sure you understand each step of the way before moving on. Having had other tutors that tried to teach as much as possible in the smallest time possible, rushing through material, studying with Ryan was a nice change! I feel like I gained a deeper understanding of the material with him in one hour than spending several hours with a tutor who would rush through topics! Thanks Ryan!

Always prompt and my daughter enjoys the tutoring. Math is not her favorite subject, but thanks to Ryan, she tolerates it.

My daughter had her first tutoring session with Ryan and it was a very positive experience for her. Ryan was patient and really took the time to explain the problems they were working on together and made sure she understood the material. We have already scheduled another tutoring session with him, I would definitely recommend Ryan!

We had our first lesson with Ryan last night and it went great. He hit the ground running and no time was wasted. He was able to simplify the concepts our daughter was having difficulty with. We are looking forward to additional sessions.

Ryan quickly responded to my question about tutoring my daughter. He arrived to our appointment early and actually stayed a bit after the appointment ended. He spent time in the first session going over the basic principals of AP stats, which I hope will give my daughter a good foundation for this year ahead. We made an appointment for the following week with Ryan.

Ryan really takes the time to make sure you understand what you;re doing. Having a variety of different concepts to learn in such a short amount of time, Ryan was able to simplify everything for me to where I could comprehend it all for an upcoming exam.

This was my very first time in my academic life that I have ever used a tutor. Ryan was awesome. He was very patient with me and knew how to make common sense out of confusing topics. I would highly recommend Ryan. He is very fast to respond to inquires and has a flexible schedule. I was reluctant to bring a stranger into my home but you have no worries with Ryan. He is an honest guy, is friendly, and truly enjoys teaching.

Ryan was so patient and kind. I highly recommend him to anyone in need of a tutor. I needed help with my statistics class and there were other tutors who did not want to attempt statistics, but he did and did an amazing job. After he left I felt like I had a firm grasp on what had me completely confused before he arrived. At any time during our session if I said I didn't understand something or didn't get it, even after he had explained, he immediately found a new way to explain it so I would understand. I totally appreciate his efforts and the time he spent tutoring me.

He had a great depth of knowledge, and was able to pull each subject apart and explain everything on a level that was easy to understand.

Ryan jumped in to help our daughter, and his enthusiasm and approach were wonderful. We have been working with a WyzAnt tutor for several months, but he's out of town for a few months. Ryan stepped up and in to save the day. Thank you!

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have studied and given lessons on the classics for several years. I have written several essays on Ancient Roman History and literature. The periods I am most well versed in Roman History are from the time of the Gracchi Brothers through the principate of Octavius Augustus Julius Caesar.

I have read several books and primary sources in regards to the transition from the republic to the empire. I am well versed in Gibbon's Fall and Decline of the Roman Empire, in addition to more recent works such as: Rubicon by Tom Holland, The Rise of Rome by Anthony Everitt and the Fall of the Roman Empire by Peter Heather.

I have worked with over 20 students on crafting college admission essays and college applications. With each student that I meet with I do a comprehensive analysis of their high school achievements. In the comprehensive analysis we discuss their current course load, extracurricular activities and community service.

From there we review their current SAT scores and compare against the current averages for their: safe school and stretch school choices. If there scores are below school averages we begin planning for test preparation. By taking a holistic approach on all the aspects that go into college counseling, we craft a trajectory so the students can meet their overall goals.

I am versed in both ordinary and partial differential equations. From there I have utilized differential equations for modeling static properties in materials for mechanical engineering. By being able to analyze stress testing utilizing differential equations I can predict the ways materials will react to tension and compression.

In addition, I have also utilized numerical methods with differential equations in finance. One project where this was utilized was in creating a pricing algorithm for the Black-Scholes pricing model. By being able to utilize numerical methods in option pricing I could predict the way that an options pricing might change over time, in both European and American markets.

I have utilized differential by modeling exponential growth studies. One project that I tutored a student in was the effect of Malthusian growth on a population. The student was able to use the growth model to predict the effect of natural and man made limits on population growth and the effect it would have on a city.

I have been tutoring finite math for several years and enjoy helping students understand advanced non-calculus topics. I have also used finite math in business applications where theory can be applied to real life problems.

One way this is done is by looking at a portfolio that a company would be looking at purchasing. We utilize analysis to determine the breakeven point of the portfolio and help ascertain the likelihood of future cash flows. By performing this analysis we can determine if it would be a wise financial decision and if the results we are looking for are reasonable.

I have also utilized the finite math technique of combinatorics, to determine the possible combinations that can be created for a fixed set of inputs. Such as, how many different ways can desks be arranged and determining the optimal arrangement for performance.

I have taken both the GRE and GMAT exams previously. I am familiar with the format and the types of questions that need to be mastered to excel on these exams!

I have tutored linear algebra for several students while I was in college and am familiar with utilizing linear algebra with functional analysis. In graduate school I utilized linear algebra for mapping path dependencies for supply chain analysis. In addition, I have utilized Markov Chains to analyze transition state changes and the way objects proceed from one stage to the next.

I have utilized linear algebra in discussing mapping changes from a three dimensional to a two dimensional plane. I have worked with performing linear transformations on a matrix. In mathematical modeling I have utilized linear algebra as an approximation for nonlinear models that are too complex to solve directly.

I have studied political science for several years and am well versed in current affairs affecting the political landscape.
