My name is Victoria but I have always gone by Vicci. My love for sewing started when I was 9 years old so I have been sewing for many years now. I have a small business where I provide Prairie Dolls to a living museum in Texas. For years I have provided items for their museum store. The items included adult and children's aprons, sun bonnets,
dusters, prairie dresses for adults and children and the dolls. I created my own pattern for the bonnets so I could vary the sizes for newborns and toddlers.
I have taught classes in sewing for my 4-H clubs and Boy Scouts when my son was young. I was a home educator and so I was asked to teach a class on sewing for our home-school group.
My other subject I enjoy is American Sign Language. My son was born hard of hearing so I taught him and myself basic sign language. My church had an interest in starting a deaf ministry so they sent me to the Bill Rice Ranch in Murfreesboro, TN. where I lived with the totally deaf for 10 days.
I taught a Basic Sign Language class to church members for two years. We signed on special occasions during church services.
During this time I also taught a class on English as a Second Language to those in our community who wanted to learn English.
I understand that there are young and old who would like to learn how to sew for fun or to make their own clothing. Sewing can be very fun and exciting for the beginner or for someone who has the basic knowledge and wants to learn more. I am a very patient person, I have worked with the very young who wanted to learn how to make the most basic item to the more complex. I believe it is important to learn hand sewing and all about your machine. Learning to pick out your material is very important for the beginner. It is best to start with something simple so you don't get frustrated and give up.
Sewing is an art that needs to be practiced to be perfect.
I will teach you how to pick out a pattern and the material so you have a fun time sewing. Hello,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am 56 years old and began sewing when I was 9 years old. I have several machines I use for different projects.
I taught sewing in my son's 4-H group when he was young. I also helped teach young ladies to sew in our Home School group.
