Front Range Community College (english)
Hello parents and students,
My name is Drew and I am looking to help your son or daughter succeed in their education. School and education are an important of my life, and the lives of my son and daughter. I have a great depth of knowledge in writing skills both in fiction and non-fiction, including essays and research papers. I am also an experienced editor and proofreader. I am a published author and have experience in helping mentor writing creatives in strengthening their stories and writing processes. I spend time volunteering at my son's second grade school to help the students with their writing and story telling skills. In addition to my English skills, I am also an experienced chess and baseball coach. I can also assist your child in science, math and social studies, while those areas may not be my key strengths, I have a keen understanding of those subjects which would make me ideal to help a single student over a variety of subjects, which helps minimize each parent needing to find multiple tutors. I can help students over a wide range of ages from primary school through high school, which also would allow me to tutor multiple children in the same household. I also have experience in GED test prep and would be happy to help students in preparing for their GED testing.
I currently work full time as a manager at a major home improvement retailer, and my schedule is limited to afternoons, evenings, and select weekday/weekend schedule options. A major part of my job responsibilities is creating and preparing training material and coaching associates. I have college experience in English, as my original career path was to become an English teacher or professor before I pursued a career in my current field. I want to help utilize that passion for teaching and I believe tutoring is a great opportunity for me to fulfill some of my teaching goals. I have reliable transportation and I would be happy to meet with the parents to ensure I am a good personality fit for your child or children. I am willing to be flexible on schedules and payment to help meet your individual needs, and I am willing to help the parents learn ways to assist their children between tutoring sessions.
Please contact me with any questions and I look forward to helping your child grow. Thank you for your time. Hello parents and students,

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I played baseball all throughout middle and high school including the varsity team. I have played on local competitive teams since and have also participated in competitive softball. I have worked with children and teens on skills including hitting, fielding, and I have a strong knowledge in pitching mechanics and execution.
I have played competitive chess both online and over the board. I have tutored multiple children in playing chess. I have also competed in tournaments including winning the 2000 Colorado Springs Open.
