About Don

I have been a teacher for 10 years. I have taught grades kindergarten to eighth grade. I am a home school tutor for the Los Nietos school district and instruct students who have been injured or may be pending expulsion.

Currently, I teach 6-8 grade students with emotional disturbance. This allows me to not only have students reach their goals academically but teach them skills to help with frustration.

Besides teaching, I do many things in the community. I coach high school baseball. I've been a band director at the elementary school level. I am an Eagle Scout and a scoutmaster of a troop. I enjoy many things and have many interest that can help me connect with many students.

I am able to connect with most students and bring their interest into the field of math. I teach patterns in math that will allow students to grasp concepts that will lead to understanding most algebraic concepts. I have taught grades k through 8 and tutored high school students. This allows me to know what needs to be focused on in order to learn each concept.

I have taught grades k through 8 and tutored high school students. This allows me to teach phonics if the students needs it or go in depth into Shakespeare. My background of literature and movies allows me to show how plot is connected in different media.

I have taught students with autism for 10 years. One of my scouts has autism and I have got him on pace to earn Eagle Scout. I have a special education credential with autism focus.

I am a master of many trades. I love to teach and make learning fun. I've crafted my skill of instruction to ensure all students can learn.
