Learn from the best! I am patient and have great ability to make difficult concepts easy to understand. Over the years I have developed various techniques on how to solve problems very quickly and accurately. When looking at a problem, there may be multiple ways to solve the problem. I help my students to properly analyze problems and choose the best method for solving them efficiently and accurately.
I can diagnose problem areas quickly and help students get to where they need to be. By carefully observing how my students solve problems, I uncover their weaknesses if any. Once I know their problem areas, I make sure they understand the concepts and provide them extra practice until they are comfortable with them.
I have over 20 years of solid experience tutoring pre-algebra, algebra I and II, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, and calculus for middle school and high school students. I also specialize in SAT/ACT math prep.
If you are ever dissatisfied with my tutoring, you don't need to pay! I am confident that you will find my services very valuable.

Andy is an exceptional tutor! He used to be in high-level math competitions, and has developed his own strategies for quickly answering questions that you can't learn anywhere else. He is very patient and good at explaining new concepts and determining what skills to work on. With his tutoring, I got every level 5 math question correct on the SAT, and scored 760 on the math level 2 subject test! I could never have achieved this without Andy's help.
Andy has helped my son, a junior in high school, feel comfortable with his Pre-Calculus topics. He has gone from a struggling C+ last semester (pre-Andy) to currently having a B+ with Andy's help.
My son Jake came home after his first lesson thrilled with the steps that Andy was able to help him for his Math 2 subject SAT test. Jake said the way Andy showed him made it much easier to comprehend and execute the problems. He is looking forward to his next tutoring session with Andy and I highly recommend him.

My daughter was not fully understanding the calculus lessons as presented by her teacher at school. But with Andy's help, she is mastering the concepts and keeping up with the lessons. She brought her grade up from a B to an A last semester. She will continue to get tutoring from Andy in the spring semester. Andy's patient tutoring made all the difference.

Mr. Y teaches alternative ways to address a problem that are many times not taught by standard teachers. These different approaches with functions and such, allowed a clearer view of what I was looking at and made it easier for me to solve. He makes sure you understand every problem with full clarity and understanding. I highly recommend Mr. Y for anyone who needs math tutoring in his line of subjects.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have lots of experience tutoring from prealgebra to calculus. Depending on the curriculum, Finite Math lies somewhere between between Algebra II, Probability, and Precalculus/Math Analysis. I have plenty of experience teaching those topics.
