For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am currently a math aid for 6th grade students whom are learning algebra. My duties include tutoring them and helping them to understand concepts that they have trouble with. In my own schooling, I studied through Statistics, so I believe my algebra skills are up to participate at minimum.
As a child, I taught my siblings to read. I taught preschool for 5 years, and a lot of that job entailed teaching phonics and reading. I am currently employed with an elementary school, where I frequently teach, and test on, phonics.
I was often in the top 5 of my class throughout elementary, high school, and college. I have implemented study skills for others in the past, which have helped lead to their success. I completed two Associate's degrees and a B.A. in a short period of time while fully employed and with 3 small children at home -- so fantastic study skills were a must.
