I love the English language and truly enjoy helping my students become more competent and comfortable in it. I am a very experienced teacher/tutor of English, Reading, and ESL; and I am very patient and never pressure my students. I think you'd enjoy working with me.

I have been a teacher/tutor for over 40 years. During that time, I have worked with a great many young and elementary-age children. I have taught elementary school-age students as a tutor, teacher and instructional aide in the public and private sectors. I hold a masters in Child Development with a minor in Educational Psychology. Additionally, I hold a masters in Teaching. I am currently completing my PhD in Education. I have special skills and experience teaching/tutoring young children, grades K-6 [in addition to considerable experience with older students]. For many years I have worked - and currently work - in the after school programs of the San Francisco public schools. There I have supervised students, in the elementary school grades, in recreation and in academics. I have helped students complete their daily homework assignments and related academic work. Very often students come to me seeking help with questions or difficulties they are encountering in various academic subject areas ranging from Math to English to Science, as well as other subject areas. I enjoy doing this and am quite skilled and experienced in this kind of teaching.

Knowledgeable and Skilled Tutor!

I had tutoring sessions about speaking and writing from October 2018 to August 2019. It is not too much to say that he was a perfect tutor to me. Above all, his words is clear and grammatical. In addition to this, he has expertise in etymology. As a writing tutor, he has a good skill to make sentences compact and easy like a magician. I can tell he is one of the most smart and knowledgeable person that I have ever met before. Whatever I told him, whatever I chose as a conversation topic, he was able to understand it deeply and discuss it with me. Also whenever I faced a problem in the U.S. life, I asked him for some advice. He has wide and comprehensive knowledge about American history and politics. Thanks to this, I also acquired some knowledge about them. More surprisingly, he understands details of the U.S Constitution. It was very helpful for me, as a Korean lawyer, to discuss the meaning and history of the U.S. Constitution. Once he explained me the geography of America with spreading a map on the table. It was a pleasant time. I believe that he would be a great tutor to foreigners, like me, whose first language is not English.

Wonderful tutor

Eric really is a great tutor. We've had several lessons with him by now, and I can say that Eric truly cares about my child making progress. Eric is gentle in his approach and never fails to provide positive reinforcement, which makes a world of difference to my child. I highly recommend him to anyone, whose child struggles with not only school work, but confidence issues as well.

Great Teacher

Eric is the greatest teacher which Wyzant recommended me for Alberto and I am really glad I meet him and I trust him working with my son. I will really recommend Eric to any students which they need help in English and Government best trick for success is patience and hard work intensive work. My son Alberto was an F student in English and also he did not have any knowledge in government and he start to work with Eric on the last week of January 2017 doing both subjects together. They work every day 2 to 3 hours some times 4 or 5 hours Monday true Sunday but hard work give good results my son Alberto is almost a B student in English and B student in Government. People need to know patience is the best key for success and hard work never quit. When Eric first meet my son he wasn't sure how it will work and if he could give him any support to make things better for him after few sessions and seen Alberto working hard with him he looked at me and he said yes he will make it to the end and he will graduate so I trust him and I am a really happy mother seen Alberto tomorrow graduating is a really good felling. My story is a happy people's need to know Eric M. is a really grate teacher a 100000000 STARS.

A motivating teacher

Eric has been a very motivating coach towards my son. Although my son only has had 3-4 lessons with Eric, have already seen the improvement on him. Eric has guided him to structure his essays at a better way. And more important how to think better as a writer and not just a high school student. Really appreciate ...
