I love to help the students find their abilities and grow with them. I work one on one and so can explain the each subject as needed. I tailor each session to meet the needs of the student and to help them progress in their knowledge. My only wish is that the student would excel in their subjects.

I have been regularly background checked for my teaching position.

Excellent teacher; we have other priorities now and must end class temporarily

Joan has been an excellent teacher during the past several weeks and we made progress. At the present time we have other activities and will have to stop classes temporarily. Below are the details as outlined in our email to her. Thanks for your help. Hi Joan, We just got word that Cecilia's landscape classes have been moved up and will begin next week, so we will have to put our computer classes with you on hold until after March. We want to thank you for your help and patience over the past several weeks, and will contact you after March to see if we can resume then. Thanks again for your help, and will you please advise Wyzant that we are on temporary hold. Rick and Cecilia Simon

Great tutor

Joan and I did not decide to work together after our first session but that was because I was looking for very technical help for the ASVAB test. She did not have the training to tutor in the electronics areas that I needed the most help, but our initial session was still extremely helpful. In one hour she gave me several tips on how to better my studying habits and manage my time. If I were to need help in the areas she were more knowledgeable in I would have no hesitation to work with her again. Very friendly and welcoming.

Quite helpful and patient

I am taking a CAD class at UC Berkeley Extension as part of the Interior Architecture and Design program. I've been struggling to complete my assignments in a timely way. There has been a lot of material covered and I am new to CAD and Windows. Joan was quite helpful and patient. I was able to make some good progress in 2 hours with her at my side guiding me. We worked on a floor plan, creating walls, dimensioning and downloading and placing appliances and fixtures. I suspect I will back at Joan's house before this semester is up.
