About Albert

Teaching has always been an important part of my life. From being a field training instructor up to being Adjunct Instructor at the Community College level. My experience as a business owner of a Digital Print Studio for over 20-years allows me to offer to the student a hands-on experience in a true working environment. It is always best for the student to get a true interaction with someone who makes a living in the field of their choosing. Nothing can substitute for actually using, handling, and learning on the products needed for a true teaching session.

Ideas should be taught in easy to understand bits. One of my best strengths is that I can do all my instruction without GEEK speak. Once a student has been brought up in their understanding of the subject. Additional terms can be introduced in a timely fashion based on their learnings to that point. All classes are very important to me. Lessons can be video recorded on the Macs during the lesson for individual playback at the students leisure.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Business

I have been a brick-and-mortar business owner for 20-years. This is a hands-on family-run business. We do all operations in-house, including Taxes, Banking, Licensing, Quarterly Taxes, Merchant Services, Leasing, Financing, Web Sites, Social Media, Equipment Installation, Computer Configuration, and Software Installation.

Our clientele includes Museums, Planetary Society, Caltech and retail. We have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau with over 40,000 transactions. Our business maintains a 50% profit margin.

Macintosh

I have utilized Macs since 1996. Hands on with Macs since the Motorola PowerPC chipsets. Use Macs on a daily business in my own Design Studio - N2Graphics located in Pasadena, California. Always have had at least (3) Macs running 24-hrs. non stop for 20-years now.

To achieve this I have been the IT person networking Macs to Windows. Also do the OS updates including Partitioning for Multi-Boot Start up and Virtual Windows installs using various VM software.

From our first Audio-Visual PPC 120 to our 27"iMac, iPad Retina Display and MacBookPro - I do the software installs. This ranges from Cloud Computing with Adobe Suite to Final Cut Pro and utilities.

Have hands on with the PowerPC 120, BlueBerry, iMac (Original), QuadCore Liquid Cooled, MacBookPro Aluminum, MacBookPro i7, MiniMac, and the iMac 21" QuadCore.

Am a Certified Adjunct Professor with hands on teaching Adobe Creative Suite with over 30-Macs in (3) different simultaneous class sessions over the years. In these class sessions I have utilized Macs extensively and continuously.

Photography

I have owned a Digital Photo Studio for 20 years. I have been a Professional Photographer for over 35 years.

Video Production

The first lesson is a hands-on question and answer session so I can set up your camera for you. No need for you to have to learn it all. Let me show you the best way to use your camera settings. This way I can show you what NOT to do. Increasing the images that you do like.

I have enjoyed the change over from Video Tape (Analog) to Memory Cards (Digital). I have multiple cameras. SL1 and (2) NX100's for field / studio use. Lumix for daytime and a Sony ActionCam X3000 for sports. 27"iMac for video proofing. Multi backdrops in Green Screen, Off White, Black. For mics I have Shure for run and gun remotes, and Sennheiser G3 Lavs and AKG for overheads.

For camera movements we have a ProAm Crane fully customized for a perfect show without any bounce. We also feature a SteadiCam suit for that smooth look in the field whenever we cannot get a surface area smooth enough for the crane. Also a Crane Gimbal for the Lumix.

I have video experience going back 20 years. For example. One of my past videos included the landing a few years back on Mars, presented at the Pasadena Convention Center. My videos were the over the shoulder shots of Bill Nye against the Video Projection Screen.

Video editing can be so much easier when you use the proper equipment, sound, and lighting beforehand. Otherwise Video Editing can quickly become a giant mess. I always recommend that you have Video Production perfected to the ultimate BEFORE you even learn editing!
