First things first, I love to teach! I have a K-8 credential and have taught in many different grade levels. I truly feel that students need to have a good relationship with their teachers; teachers need to respect their students and understand who they are in order to help them reach their potential. In return, students will show that same respect and understand that their teacher is truly there for them. I feel the same way about tutoring. Some students may struggle because they have a different style of learning. It is my job as the teacher/tutor to find the necessary strategies needed in order to help your child succeed! I have taught many different students from all different backgrounds at all different levels in learning. I have a heart and a passion for teaching and feel truly blessed to be able to do what I do!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I feel that I am qualified to teach elementary subjects K-6th first and for most due to the fact that I have my K-8 Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, which I received through California State University. I have been in the education system for 6 years now and currently teach at the 8th grade level. My student teaching was done in Kindergarten and in 6th grade and I have taught in many different elementary classrooms. I am up to date with the current state standards and feel that my approach is very adaptable to any child.
I feel that I would be a qualified tutor in fitness because of my sports background. I have played volleyball, soccer and softball growing up throughout high school and beyond. I have coached soccer and volleyball at many different levels. I struggled with my weight as a child and now today I continue to live a healthy and active lifestyle. I currently do Crossfit and make sure to eat a healthy well balanced diet. I understand that our nation is struggling in this area and feel that if we can address the problems at a young age and instill the importance of fitness, our youth will grow up happy and healthy.
Public speaking is not an easy subject to teach, however I currently teach 8th grade language arts and deal with students who are shy and embarrassed. I take it upon myself to teach proper public speaking skills which start with being confident while speaking in front of others. A big part of my curriculum deals with oral presentations in class. If a student is confident then act of public speaking comes a lot easier to the student.
I feel that I would be a qualified tutor in soccer because I played soccer for more than 15 years. I have coached soccer and continue to play recreationally. Soccer was a big part of my childhood, and feel that the sports are such and integral part of a child's life.
I feel that am highly qualified in this area of study skills because of the fact that I currently teach 8th grade. I have to get them prepared for high school. Public school students know that every year they take their state test, but they do not know exactly what is on the test. They know the standards that will be addressed. As their teacher, I need to provide them with the necessary study skills that will prepare them for any test at any time.
