Having taught math from grades 6 through 12, I understand what it takes to help students to transition from elementary school mathematics to middle school and from middle school to high school mathematics. I am often told by previous students that I was the best math teacher that they had in not only their middle school careers, but also as they advanced to high school. Since most of my 30+ years as a classroom teacher was spent in middle school, I have found that having a very strong background in pre algebra and algebra I as well as geometry is the key to being successful in higher math classes. As always, I am committed to helping your student achieve the greatest success possible as we work together to improve not only mathematics skills, but life skills as well.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
