Piano teacher and general subjects tutor

I have been tutoring students in a wide range of subjects for about 7 years now. These subjects have ranged from piano lessons, guitar lessons, basic math and reading, French lessons, music theory, and biology. I enjoy one-on-one interaction with clients and have received positive feedback including one of my students receiving an award for "most improved" in her reading ability.

I love these feelings of accomplishment and satisfaction of making a real difference in someone else's life, and helping them achieve their own dreams and goals. As a tutor, I am not only a motivator but an enabler. I am giving my students the tools they need to accomplish things on their own, in a sense making myself obsolete, but in a good way.

I majored in Biology in college and was captivated by the clock-like workings of the universe and how it can be measured and analyzed to the finest detail. I feel that I have a gift for creating suitable analogies for relating these scientific mechanisms to my students in a way that is easy to understand and remember.

I lived with a French family for about 3 months, speaking mostly French and teaching their 7 children English, as well as helping them prepare musical pieces on various instruments. I became moderately fluent in French because of this experience and can easily educate those just starting to learn the language.
