California Lutehran university (Business, Global St.)
I graduated from California Lutheran University with a BA in Global Studies and a BS in International Business. I am a native Spanish Speaker and advanced in Portuguese and during my college career, I studied abroad in Costa Rica, Chile, Cuba, and Thailand. In Latin America, I spoke Spanish every day and learned about different accents that are present in different countries. I tutored US students while abroad with their Spanish homework and explained to them how certain words differ depending on the country. For students thinking about traveling or studying abroad, I will help prepare you to make the most of your experience. I can assist with holding a conversation with confidence, reducing accents to sound more like a local, vocabulary, culture, popular music, and more.
When I started my college career at CLU, I tested out of the language requirement in Spanish and that gave me room to take classes in foreign cultures. In Chile, I took all my classes with locals and placed in the top 5% in two of them. I am passionate about Latin America and my capstone thesis in Global Studies focused on the impacts of the World Cup in Brazil.
At CLU, I was a Global Ambassador for International Studies Abroad and conducted presentations of the many opportunities offered abroad. I worked closely with students and followed up with any questions they had for me. It was a marvelous experience and I love hearing about their times in their country of choice. I have traveled to the countries mentioned above as well as Nicaragua, Panama, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Israel/Palestine, Jordan, Myanmar, and Cambodia. I am eager to help people who wish to grow individually and professionally through cultural immersion. I want to see students improve their language skills and I enjoy being a part of it.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you are struggling with Spanish as I am happy to help!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
