I started teaching English as a Second Language at a small school in Thailand almost 20 years ago. Since then I have taught students of all ages, from Kindergarten to adults, in professional settings. I am passionate about helping people get to the next level through language. The most satisfying thing is to see a student understand a concept and use it. I believe that lessons should be educational, fun and interesting for the student. I understand the difficulty of speaking a second language and I have tips and tricks that will make it easier.
I have been teaching ESL for almost 20 years. I've taught in Thailand, Seattle, and Los Angeles. I speak Thai and lived in Thailand for 5 years. I take groups of students to Thailand for UCLA.
I teach ESL reading, writing, pronunciation, accent reduction, and beginning Thai language. I can also help you with job interview prep, auditioning, presentations, proofreading and graduate school applications and essays. I also work in MBA admissions, so I can certainly advise on MBA educational applications and career trajectory. I tutor MBAs weekly on presentations and job search.
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts from the Evergreen State College. I hold a TEFL Certification-150 hours.
I enjoy working with all different kinds of people.
I look forward to meeting you either in person or online for your first lesson. Feel free to ask me any questions! I started teaching English as a Second Language at a small school in Thailand almost 20 years ago. Since then I have taught students of all ages, from Kindergarten
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I lived in Thailand for five years and I learned to speak Thai while there. I also have worked for Thai companies where the main spoken language was Thai. I have taken groups of students to Thailand for UCLA where I translate for them and help them navigate the city. I've taught groups of UCLA Anderson students Thai language phrases and travel tips. I have also worked over the phone with Americans who wanted to go to Thailand.
