Mount Saint Mary's University (Nursing)
From freshman to junior year of high school, I volunteered at a local grade school as a teacher's aide. Throughout the school day, I assisted students as well. Whenever possible, I assisted in daycare and tutored students and assisted them with their assignments.
I was a member of CSF, California Scholarship Foundation, throughout high school. As a member, I set time aside of my schedule to tutor and assist upper and underclassmen. By graduation, I was awarded with a gold cord.
Although I am not majoring in an educational field, I enjoy tutoring others because it correlates with what I want to do as a nurse - help others. By doing so, I expand my horizons in assisting others; from caring about their welfare to assisting their academic achievement.
From the math courses I took in high school, I thrived in Algebra the most.
The focus of my major is science. As a freshman, I have taken anatomy and am currently taking microbiology.
English has always been one of my favorite subjects and one of the subjects I always do well in. I prefer to break down the lesson rather than tackling it as a whole all at once.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I began playing basketball in fifth grade at the age of 10. I was in my grade school's varsity team from fifth through eighth grade. In eighth grade, my team and I successfully upheld a winning streak and qualified for playoffs.
I continued playing basketball in high school. In freshman year, my junior varsity team was first place in our league. In freshman and sophomore year, I was in JV until I was brought up to play in Varsity as a Sophomore. The varsity basketball team always made it to playoffs, which I participated in from sophomore to senior year. In senior year, my varsity team was second in the league.
