In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have lived and studied in Israel, graduated from a teachers college with a diploma in Jewish studies (that includes Hebrew language: literature and grammar) and then I studied for a B.A at the University of Haifa in History. During the whole time I have taught Hebrew in schools in Israel and when I came to the States, I also taught Hebrew language in Maryland to all levels at school starting from elementary to 12th grade advanced Hebrew. In addition I taught beginner, intermediate and advanced modern conversational Hebrew to adults at evening classes in Maryland and D.C. and Biblical Hebrew to students from Baltimore.
I studied at George Washington University and completed my M.A in education and Jewish Studies that included Hebrew literature courses.
