My background is rooted in science and mathematics with degrees in Biology (BS, Minors in Chemistry and Computer Science) and Distillation(MSc). Focal points include:
•biology (microbiology, zoology, genetics, bioinformatics and genomics)
•statistical analysis
•programming (C++, java, C#, Python).

The breadth of my knowledge is not limited to the above list. Throughout my academic career, I have been compelled to learn many different subjects and study at several different institutions. I have assisted lecture classes, independently taught labs and held office hours for various topics. I miss helping others better their education and aiding them to apply that knowledge to wherever their ambitions lead.

I have been very lucky have access to some great professors that have shown me what makes an effective teacher. Tutoring sessions will be tailored to techniques that improve your areas of difficulty and may include assignments if needed.

My undergraduate degree is in biology with minors in computer science and chemistry. I completed 3 years of graduate training at Loyola University Chicago and the University of Notre Dame, where I conducted microbiology research and got experience teaching my microbiology lab sections. I finished a MSc on Fermentation and Distillation in Scotland, writing my thesis on brewers’ yeast.

I have a peer-reviewed conference publication for a C# algorithm I coded during my undergraduate experience. My graduate experience included building bioinformatics tools and data analysis models in C++. I also team taught a class on bioinformatics and genomics, where I held office hours to help students with their C++ coding assignments.

I am available from 8am – 10pm every day EXCEPT TUESDAY (8am - 2pm). I would prefer to meet with students at their local library, but meetup places are negotiable.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to check if we would be a good fit.

Cheers!

Genetics,

Genetics

I have class work in genetics, population genetics, genomics and bioinformatics that spans both my undergraduate and graduate experience. I worked on research projects that looked in the molecular evolution of bacteriophages and how host genetics impact their evolution. Aided several statistical analysis projects involving SNPs.
