I am an attorney who majored in English and love to read and write. If I wasn't an attorney, I'd probably be teaching English. I tutored high school students a couple of years ago, and I loved reading their assigned books with them. It allowed me to read materials other than legal documents. I have worked with children of all ages, since I also taught Sunday school to pre-school children.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
