I am excited to share some of my experiences teaching English to elementary school ages up to professors. I have volunteered with non profits, traveled, and worked with various international, business, and community programs. I taught grades 5-8 and pre university students through English Opens Doors, a United Nations program with the Chilean Ministry of Education. I also volunteered as an English tutor at Aquinas Literacy Center and the Indo- American Center in Chicago. I enjoy teaching immigrants and refugees, children, adults, and love the cultural exchange and continuous learning experience for everyone involved.
I recently taught a summer program with high school students from Italy, Spain and France through American Travel and Educational Services at Loyola University in Chicago. I also had the opportunity to lead classes with Syrian, Iraqi, Afghani refugees, including youngsters and seniors. I've taught students from China, Nepal, Mexico, Poland,Pakistan, India, Kazakhstan, and Eritrea. I enjoy witnessing students across all ages and backgrounds get excited about their ability to learn a new language. I enjoy sharing strategies to facilitate the process of learning a language in an insightful, engaging manner reinforcing students' confidence.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
